A Local Lifeline Built By Those Who Served
Homes For Heroes Veterans Housing and Support Service is a veteran-led nonprofit rooted right here in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. When a veteran faces housing insecurity, we step in as trusted neighbors—providing immediate shelter, hands-on support, and a clear path toward lasting independence.
We focus our energy where it matters most: direct, personal care. From securing temporary shelter to supplying essential appliances and furniture, every contribution creates immediate, tangible relief for veterans and their families across Christian County.
Our Leadership
Veteran-led, focused on lasting stability.
Howard N Williams
Founder & Executive Director
A 21-year United States Navy veteran, Howard founded Homes For Heroes Veterans Housing and Support Service after hearing a fellow service member’s story about unhoused comrades in their community. Driven by a simple, powerful calling—"If you can help, help your veterans"—Howard uses his military leadership and lived experience to ensure every veteran in Hopkinsville has a safe, stable place to call home.
Driven By A Commitment To Serve
Transitioning to civilian life brings unique challenges, and no military hero should ever have to navigate housing loss alone. We apply Housing First principles to eliminate barriers to entry—getting veterans into safe, dignified housing immediately before wrapping comprehensive support around them.
By pairing secure shelter with financial budgeting, rental coordination, and mentorship, we help our local veterans rebuild their lives, achieve economic independence, and secure a place they are proud to call home.
